On Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 17:00, in the Sala "Mario Tobino" of Palazzo Ducale, in Lucca, will take place the award ceremony of the International Dissertation Award - Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci, 2nd Edition, granted to Prof. Stefan Klingner, with the participation of: Prof. Raffaello Nardi, President of the Accademia Lucchese di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, which has co-financed the award, Prof.ssa Franca Casali, President of the Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci, Prof. Luca Fonnesu, President of the Società Italiana di Studi Kantiani. Prof. Claudio La Rocca, chair of the award committee, will give a speech in honor of the prize winner (Laudatio). International dissertation award Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci: Second Edition



The second edition of the International Dissertation Award - Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci, co-financed by the Accademia Lucchese di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, has been granted to Dr. Stefan Klingner, for the dissertation thesis Technische Vernunft. Kants Zweckbegriff und das Problem einer Kulturphilosophie. The award commitee was composed by Massimo Barale, Bernd Dörflinger, Luca Fonnesu, Claudio La Rocca, and Dennis Schulting.
The Foundation wishes to thank all the participants and apologizes for the delay in releasing this communication. This delay is due, on one side, to the large number and high quality of the theses submitted, and, on the other side, to the sudden and premature loss of Prof. Massimo Barale.

Second Edition of the International Dissertation Award
Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci



The Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci award for the years 2011-2012, co-financed by the Accademia Lucchese di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, is given to a doctoral thesis of philosophical subject, related in particular to Immanuel Kant or the kantianism and its developments until contemporary philosophy. The award can be given to a doctoral thesis (or equivalent foreign work), whose defence has taken place between January 2011 and December 2012. The award consists of Euro 5.000, which can be used, according to the will of the author, to partially or completely finance the publication of the thesis in the series of the foundation itself. The applications and necessary documentation shall reach the Foundation within April 30th, 2013, otherwise the application will not be considered. Friday, July 20th - Sunday, July 22th 2012: Francesco Zavattari - Indagine sull'ombra



Francesco Zavattari, young painter from Lucca, after ten years from his personal first exhibition, proposes a new series of ten paintings with the title Indagine sull'ombra: the Foundation is happy to host it in its rooms. The exhibition, with the support of the Comune di Massarosa, is freely open Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 of July from 4PM till 8PM. The vernissage, on Friday, July 20th from 5:30PM, will be enriched by Albert George Storace, history professor and critic of classical music and opera, who will come from Malta for the exhibition and will make a speach at 7:30PM, at the moment of the aperitive offered by the Foundation. Entrance is free.

The first edition of the International Dissertation Award - Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci, for the years 2009-2010, co-financed by the Accademia Lucchese di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, has been granted to Dr. Courtney David Fugate, for the dissertation thesis The Teleology of Reason. An Examination of the Sources and Structure of Kant's Critical Philosophy. The award commitee was composed by Bernd Dörflinger (Trier), Mario Caimi (Buenos Aires), Alfredo Ferrarin (Pisa), Luca Fonnesu (Pavia), and Claudio La Rocca (Genova).
The Foundation apologizes for the delay in releasing this communication, due to the large number and the high quality of the theses submitted, and wishes to thank all the participants.

The event is organized by the Lions Club Massarosa, the Misericordia di Massarosa, and the Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci - ONLUS. International dissertation award
Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci



The Fondazione Silvestro Marcucci award for the years 2009-2010, co-financed by the Accademia Lucchese di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, is given to a doctoral thesis of philosophical subject, related in particular to Immanuel Kant or the kantianism and its developments until contemporary philosophy. The award can be given to a doctoral thesis (or equivalent foreign work), whose defence has taken place between January 2009 and December 2010. The award consists of Euro 5.000, which can be used, according to the will of the author, to partially or completely finance the publication of the thesis in the series of the foundation itself. The applications and necessary documentation shall reach the Foundation within March 31st, 2011, otherwise the application will not be considered. Beginning at 10:00, in the Sala "Mario Tobino" of the Palazzo Ducale in Lucca, the Inauguration of the Foundation will take place, with the welcome of the Authorities, of the Foundation President and of the President of the Società Italiana di Studi Kantiani, and the seminars of Prof. Norbert Hinske (Silvestro Marcucci e la ricerca kantiana in Italia) and Prof. Beatrice Centi (La tradizione kantiana in Italia). In the afternoon, the participants will be able to visit the Foundation in Villa "Il Leccio", Quiesa di Massarosa (Lucca).
